The materials used in this shoe are the best in skateboarding. Suede gives your flip tricks the best float. The gum soul gives the best grip on board. And the white rubber around the toe cap rips away with a consistent level of friction. It doesn't stick too much or slip too fast. And yes it rips away with each slide on the grip tape and if you want the longest lasting shoe this isn't it. I'd rather have a shoe that keeps my skating consistent rather then last so long I throw it away cuz of the smell first. Hopefully they keep this model the same forever. The only thing I wish Emerica would start doing is give a measurement on the width of the toe box. Maybe make this model in skinny feet and regular feet widths for us skaters built like twigs
This is a great skate shoe that checks all the boxes. Good board feel while still being supportive with the G6 insole, doesn't take long to break in, it wears at a good pace, and in my opinion looks great. If you want a shoe with a little more padding, or have a slightly wider foot, I suggest the Dickson. If you need all the board feel you can get, go with the Romero Laced. And if you like the cup sole and board feel of the Romero Laced but need more padding, try the Figgy Dose. The one shoe that I would compare closely to this would be the Provider, but this looks better and its cheaper while having nearly all the same specs.
