Cool to wear the Heretic again. Had these 20 years ago. Looks awesome in black imo. Reynolds /kirchart vibes.
Fits just right, and I have kind of wide problematic feet. Board feel is more than ok but not like vulc of course. Still ok though.
BUT. Like other people said, the insole/midsole is ****. Have skated them couple sessions and now my heels hurt after. And I only skate low impact stuff..
With vulc I can understand, but for cupsoles this is kind of unacceptable. Especially for 90€.
I can see the egg crate pattern through the insole, come on..
This shoe needs an update to g6 or at least better insoles/midsoles.
Make it happen Emerica!!!
3 weeks on the board so far in these. Well built, you can tell it's a premium skate shoe compared to lower price point stuff. This was actually my first vulc shoe ever skated in, always been a cup sole guy but I wanted to support Braden so I made the switch. It's actually more cushioned feel than my last few cup soles (swift 1.5's, and Decenzo's) , the insole is chunky and squishy. Heavier than I was used to, but more bottom heavier feel. Biggest difference if it's your first vulc is the shoe has a larger footprint area when you are looking down at your feet on the board as there is additional wide wrapping on the sole. This makes it flick more off the rubber wrapping initially than with a cup you get more suede cause the sole doesn't stick out as much and wears down quicker. I'll be honest the board break in is taking longer than I'd like to get my flick back, but these things are heavy duty and nice and feel good wearing them. My previous assumption that vulc is not as comfy is not true. The sole is more flexy overall, but the insole makes up for it. Agree you could go down half a size as my heel is lifting a little more than I'm used to, but not a deal breaker. Go for it and support this young man.
